Our signature, slower-paced Pilates reformer group class aims to open, decompress and restore the physical body while focusing on body awareness and coordination of breath, mind and body.
Samarasa Center takes the classic teachings of Joseph Pilates, adapts the traditional reformer sequences and slows down the pace with a primary focus on breath, stress release and mindful movement. This class is the intersection of the 5 bodies as taught in the yogic tradition, with the Pilates Principles taught by Joseph Pilates. The reformer becomes an extension of the physical body as we use it to elongate and increase flexibility to the spine, build steadily to a challenging full-body intensity and finish with a restorative stretch series. We like to call it “yoga meets the reformer”.

This free class for veterans focuses on intentional, mindful movement for veterans using the techniques of Pilates – coordinating mind, body and spirit – to promote physical and emotional resilience and recovery. Appropriate for veterans with injuries and those looking to gain strength, flexibility and body control + mental ease.

Our instructors take you through a traditional reformer Pilates practice, each with their own special touch using a wide range of supporting equipment and props. Level I is for beginner and intermediate-level Pilates students, Level II is for intermediate to advanced students. You must have participated in at least 8 Level I classes to start Level II or have instructor clearance.
We dive into the apparatus-free core work as Joseph Pilates originally intended. We get back to basics - on the ground - with the mind, the body and a mat.
